A smile is a universal welcome
Thursday, January 20th, 2011
I love it when I see models smiling and it makes me smile too!
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows. And the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.

Wishing you a Thursday full of smiles and laughter! xoxoxoxoxoo

Fashion Industry Interview Outfit
Wednesday, January 19th, 2011
I find this quote from Matthew Hunt, the publicity director at Exposure US (who’s worked everywhere from Gucci to Burberry to Ford Models), great advice for going to an interview in fashion industry:
“You should definitely dress differently at a fashion interview than in the more corporate worlds of say finance or pharmaceuticals. However, presenting yourself as polished and professional is ALWAYS key. The team at Vogue is fashion-conscious, but they could just as easily walk into many different companies and look equally appropriate. Your look should always say, “I’m pulled together and organized–if you need to take me with you to a meeting with clients or top editors, I will fit in. I am ready to work at a higher level within your office, even if I am starting at an intern.” Your potential new boss should find it easy to imagine you in a more senior position.
That being said, in the fashion industry you can easily show up in a smart jacket paired with darker, more sophisticated denim and a great, clean pair of shoes and be ready to start immediately. Sharp shoes are key–they don’t have to cost a fortune, but most people aren’t impressed when shoes appear to be overly scuffed up and worn-in.”
Topshop SHRUNKEN RUCHED SLEEVE JACKET $110.00
ASOS Power Shoulder Tailored Boyfriend Blazer $112.06
Tibi White Boucle Blazer $250 (Julesb.co.uk)
ASOS Covered Lock Clutch $25.86
Rebecca Minkoff ‘Classics MAB – Mini’ Satchel $495.00
Warehouse Cigarette Trousers $82.75 (ASOS)
SCARLETT BLUE SUEDE PLATFORM PEEP TOE SHOES $135.00
House of Harlow 1960 Peacock Cuff $185.00
I love this look from Michael Kors Prefall-2011.
What do you think about working in the fashion industry? Would you like going to work everyday being able to express yourself or would you feel like there’s a pressure to look fashionable? xxoxoxooxoxxoo

Preppy Girl..
Tuesday, January 18th, 2011
What do you think about preppy style? Are you a fan? According to Wikihow, A prep is someone who cares about their appearance enough to look good — but not so much that they are superficial. They are clean cut, classy and sophisticated. Madewell Spring Summer 2011 lookbook.
I think sometimes calling someone a prep has bad canotations. But I think the idea of preppy style has changed over the years. What do you think?

Bright and Early
Monday, January 17th, 2011
Good morning my lovelies! I have to go to work but I’m in my best, chripy, happy clothes and I’ll be walking out the door with a smile. If you’re having a holiday today, enjoy your extended weekend..you lucky people. I think having a transparent coat to show off your outfit when it rains is such a stylish idea at Burberry!
Have a fantastic Monday, rain or shine! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoo

Relax, take it easy
Friday, January 14th, 2011
Relax, take it easy,
for there is nothing that we can do
Relax, take it easy
blame it on me or blame it on you
Lyrics from one of my favorite artists, Mika’s song “Relax, Take it easy”. It’s the perfect anthem for me today. After work, I’ll be relaxing with my favorite book, go to the secluded part at the beach, eating ice cream, taking random naps, shopping and being silly.
This animation short started out innocently enough but ended up quite scary in the end.
Do something silly and fun this weekend! xoxoxoxoxoxooxxo

Looking sharp
Thursday, January 13th, 2011
If you’ve watched the early episodes of “The Hills” when Lauren Conrad was still working as a Teenvogue intern, you’ll notice some of her coworkers besides Whitney Port. The girl that made a great impression on me better than Lauren or Whitney was Emily Weiss. She was polished, professional, smart and has impeccable style. Not to mention absolutely gorgeous! She’s now working as a fashion assistant for Vogue. Here are two of my favorite styles of her. Beautiful styling that makes you want to know where everything she’s wearing comes from!
I love that she looks comfortable but dressy and appropriate for the office. What a great look!

Work with me
Wednesday, January 12th, 2011
Midweek….eeek…usually, I’m pretty busy with work, multiple projects I’m working on, replying to a bunch of emails, updating my calendar, doing my homework, figuring out which item I can splurge on without sacrificing food..haha. So having a organized and neat office space is essential for me. I also have dreams about working for the companies below because their office interior makes me feel so happy! I wish I could work there!
Can you believe those are actual employees working on the mossy playground? The offices are Red Bull, Sydney, Australia. Aren’t these egg-shaped meeting rooms fun? They’re from Google Engineering Headquarters in Zurich. Did you know that they have playground style-slide entrances to their cafeteria?! Ah, Google! The ultimate dream to work for.
The red thing you see in the middle? It’s the hot tub. For staff meetings. Yeah, that must be the most awesome meetings ever because according to an employee “there’s always someone in a towel”. Grip Limited Offices in Toronto, Canada.
My inspiration for work desks…
Unclutterd, simple and welcoming desk for work.
Do you think this is just a bunch of briefcases piling on top of one another? It’s actually a desk and the “briefcases” are drawers. Clever, don’t you think?
And if you want to see what Burberry Designer Christopher Bailey, Oprah, and Martha Stewart’s desks look like, you can check them outhere!
What does your office looks like? Wishing you a beautiful and productive day! xoxoxoxoxoxxoo
